PACKY PASTA RECIPES


PENNE WITH MUSTARD ALMOND SAUCE

Serves 4
3 cups cooked penne pasta

SAUCE

1 large onion – sliced, 2 tbsp butter, 2 cups milk, 1 tbsp maida (plain flour), ¾ tsp mustard powder, 8-10 almonds – chopped into tiny pieces, ¼ cup cream ; ½ cup grated cheese, salt & pepper to taste

  1. Heat butter on low heat and cook onions in it till soft. Add flour and mustard powder and almonds. Cook for a few seconds.
  2. Add milk, stirring continuously till the sauce coats the spoon.
  3. Add cream and cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste and simmer on low heat for 2 minutes.
  4. At serving time, toss the boiled penne in 1 tbsp butter with a sprinkling of salt. Heat sauce and add pasta. Serve sprinkled with extra cheese.
